Homeowners' pick for heating and cooling across northeast Ohio and the Western Reserve

Gas Furnace Installation

We install gas furnaces in homes across Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, replacing a worn or failed unit with a properly sized one and connecting it to your existing gas line, venting, ductwork and thermostat. Most homeowners call us when a furnace is decades old, short cycling, needing heating repair every winter, or heating some rooms and skipping others. Call us and we will look at the whole system, take measurements, and tell you plainly whether replacement or furnace repair makes more sense. If you ever smell gas, leave the building, call 911 or your gas utility, then call us.

What a gas furnace installation actually involves

The old unit comes out, and that is the smallest part of the day. We shut down and disconnect the gas supply, pull the furnace, then look hard at what it was connected to. Older homes across the region often have retrofitted duct trunks, undersized returns, and venting that was fine for a different furnace than the one going in. We set the new unit level, make the gas and electrical connections, run condensate where needed, adjust venting, and fire it up while we watch it run through a full cycle.

What we check and install along the way

We measure the home rather than matching the sticker on the old furnace, because the previous unit may have been oversized from the start. That means room sizes, window count, insulation, and how the ductwork is laid out. We check return air capacity, gas line sizing, the flue or vent path, and the condition of your thermostat wiring. New sheet metal transitions, a fresh filter rack, and a thermostat swap are common parts of the job. Before we leave, we confirm airflow at the vents and go over the filter size with you.

How we decide replacement is the right call

Age alone does not settle it. We look at what is failing and how often. A cracked heat exchanger, a rusted-through cabinet, or a control board and blower motor going in the same season all point one direction. So does a furnace that has been getting heater repair visits every winter while rooms upstairs stay cold. If the unit has years left and the real problem is duct leakage or a bad limit switch, we will say so and fix that instead. You get the honest version either way.

Gas Furnace Installation — quick answers

How long does a gas furnace installation take?

Most straightforward swaps take a single day. If the venting has to change, the return air needs reworking, or the basement layout is tight, it can run into a second day. We will tell you which before we start.

Can a new gas furnace use my existing ductwork?

Usually yes, though we check it first. Leaky joints, undersized returns and old retrofit runs limit what any new furnace can do. We seal and modify what we can so the system moves the air it was designed to move.

Do I need a new thermostat with a new gas furnace?

Not always. Some older thermostats work fine with a new unit, but if yours lacks the wiring for staged heating or a variable speed blower, we will recommend a replacement so you get the full range of operation.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form and describe what changed. Warm air, no air, a smell, a noise, a breaker that keeps tripping. Details on the phone shorten the visit considerably.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, airflow, electrical connections, the outdoor unit and the heat exchanger side before naming a cause. You get the finding in plain words, not a parts list you cannot read.

  3. Step 3

    You approve the repair

We explain what failed, what it takes to fix it, and what happens if you wait. Nothing gets replaced without your say so. Most common repairs are handled the same visit.

Why homeowners call us

  • Old housing stock is normal hereBasements with converted octopus trunk lines, ducts retrofitted around joists, returns that were never sized right. We work in these houses constantly and we size the repair to the house you actually have.
  • Long heating seasonsFurnaces in this region run hard from October into April, and lake effect stretches it further. We know what wear looks like at that mileage, from cracked igniters to blower motors that have been dragging for two winters.
  • Cooling and heating bothOne crew for air conditioning repair and heating repair. The same ductwork moves air in July and January, so a technician who understands both sides catches problems a single-season contractor tends to walk past.
  • Plain talk about repair versus replaceSometimes a part fixes it for years. Sometimes you are putting money into a system that is done. We tell you which one we think you are looking at and why, then leave the decision with you.
  • All major brands, gas & electricIndependent service on Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, York and the rest.
  • Straight answersNot worth fixing? We say that out loud, and often it saves you the visit fee.
